The Orianne Society had the opportunity to participate in the rescue of a Red-tail Boa Constrictor that was captured by Georgia Department of Natural Resources (GA DNR) recently. It is suspected that the boa was a pet that was released when the owner was unable or unwilling to care for it any longer. Unfortunately, it is quite common for people to purchase juvenile boas, pythons, turtles, etc. without researching what it takes to care for these animals over the course of their lives.
