September’s Photo of the Month comes from our very own Ben Stegenga! The Uakari Poison Frog (Ranitomeya uakarii), a magnificent little frog that I observed in a bromeliad along the Amazon River in northern Peru. Like many poison frog species, the Uakari Poison Frog lays its eggs terrestrially, and then the male will carry the newly hatched tadpoles on his back up to small pools of water that have collected in the centers of bromeliads.
